Amex Green approval

I almost fainted when I was approved for an Amex Green with no preset spring limit (whatever that means)
I know they pulled Experian and my score is only 640- Tu and Equifax are 595- I also have 2 collections on my report and another car loan that I have not paid on in over a year- I had a car accident and no gap insurance-
I had to call them to make sure it was my info they used😀

Congratulations! One day I’ll be in the charge card game. And it’s no spend limit, not spring limit lol. Basically you can use it without a set credit limit essentially.

Probably to get his/her foot in the door with AMEX---same way and same card I did with 5 years ago.

Take good care of the card, (use it wisely, PIF each month) and Amex will take good care of you.

By getting this card you will make it just that little bit easier when applying for your first revolver with them.

Best thing I did many years ago was get in with Amex, we get along very well together these days.

Hope you didn't spill the coffee when you almost fainted.

By the way, you may be surprised but if your profile has qualified you for the Green charge card, you may also qualify for the Platinum charge card. You can probably check through AMEX pre-qualification tool to confirm. I am not suggesting necessarily to get the Platinum card-- after all, it does have one very hefty Annual Fee (AF) but if you are interested in that card, it is something to consider.

From my experience, the qualification criteria for the Green card and the Platinum card are very similar and AMEX likes to hand out cards with high AFs.

Congrats. Just remember whatever you charge needs to be paid in full at the end of month. This card will be good for you to build internally with Amex.Good luck

Congrats on your AMEX approval. With similar scores prior to having AMEX, I also was pre-approved for the Green Charge in addition to the Delta Gold. I wasn't aware at the time I could possibly have 2 or more, so I chose the Delta for travel miles. Since then, I found this forum and a few other cards have found me, lol. Now, I click the apply now button every 3 or 4 days anticipating a pre-approval for the Gold or Platinum. But, that's enough about me....
