Cap1 Love Button $100 CLI :( Need advice

So, I have not had my card very long (5 months). I read that I can ask for a CLI before my automatic review. I will go from 1k to 1.5k next month. I asked for 5k and they gave me 1.1k A little disappointed. Should I have waited? Will this stop my Auto CLI? I also just upgraded from Plat to QS. What do you recommend?

You'll get your credit steps increase still. Asking for 5k on a starter card and getting it will never happen. You've done the right thing. Just let time and heavy use and PIF each month be your guide. Use it as a debit card like it wasnt a credit card. PIF each month. 6 months try for Disco. Spread apps out, no sprees. Your rebuilding. The foundation has been set. Rome wasnt built in 1 day. Good Luck! And welcome to the forum!

To answer your question... it won't affect your Auto CLI.

When you're done with credit steps you'll get an increase. You can ask for one before then and there's a good chance you'll get it but not that much.

Now, that being said... there have been a lot of people I know of who got a larger CLI after the credit steps i.e. $2500-3000. There's been others who only get $200 CLI. There's no rhyme or reason, unfortunately.

They do like loyalty, and heavy usage of their cards. The system dictates what CLI you get. So either their system likes you or it doesn't.

I hate to be "that guy," but what are credit steps? Is it the 5 months of payments that will ger me from 1k to 1.5k?

It looks like the OP was set to go from 1,000 to 1,500 with the auto increase. Now that his limit is 1,100 will he only get a $400 increase to bring him to $1,500 or will he still get a $500 increase to bring him to $1,600?

At the end of the steps period, OP will get the balance of the promised CLI to bring the total to $1500.
