USAA comes through again! $12,000 CLI!!

Hi all,

I have to really admit this gardening thing sucks big time. I was trying to make my way to at least the end of the year without applying for anything even cli's unless it was a sp but, I decided 6 months of gardening was sufficent enough in this case.

Didn't want any new accounts as my AAoA is starting to gain some steam decided to hit up a bank that has been very good to me over the last 18 months. I have rate advantage card along with the 2.5%CB visa wth them. The rate advantage was the one up for the attempt so hit the button and went from $10k------> $22,000! This brings my total exposure with USAA to $49k. I have heard that $50k is max with them for the credit cards so likely won't use another pull for the $1k left on the table.

This bank never ceases to amazes as it has always came through huge for the pull taken. So with that said goal now is to continue on the no new accounts train for the next year. That is when my last negs will eventually fall by the waist side. And maybe even those elusive 800's might just be in my future.

Small Data point: USAA has usually pulled EQ exclusively for cli's for me but this time around they got my EXP. Not sure if this has happened to others here on the forum. Please chime in on this if so. Thanks guys

Q: Do you have to request a $$ amount or do they just give you what they want?

Curious because my card will reach 6 months in May and I plan to quickly exit the garden to request my 1st CLI with them...

Oh & EX seems to now be their bureau of choice. They pulled EX for my approval in November.

A big congrats my friend!! Guess what....I burned a HP for that $1000. lol

Mine was just as yours is now. I waited 6 months and finished them off at $50k!

Thanks Thornback! No you don’t need to enter an amount during your request. Just hit the button and they will approve you for what they are comfortable extending.

Nice! USAA gave me my largest CLI ever last year of $8000. I plan to hit the luv button again in May.

Congrats...I am tempted also...sitting with USAA at $10K for 10 months now....wondering is it worth waiting for 1-year anniversary and see what they do...or pull the handle for HP. Is it TU or EQ....?

Thanks RickNATL! My account was around 8 or 9 months since my last increase. As for waiting to the 1 year anniversary , it certainly would'nt hurt your chances as your are eligible regardless it could very well yeild your extra. They seem to be pulling EQ or EXP in my experience and most members on the forums will support this theory. Whatever you decide surely let us know how i goes.

Well done Mr G! So I'm curious, there's been a few recent threads (I'll have to dig 'em up) that mentioned going beyond the $50K cap for all revolvers. Was there anything more available when you requested the CLI or did you request only $1K? The 2 CCs I have are at the max (known) exposure so I wondered if there were outliers to the actual cap 🤔
