Update: I applied for and was auto-approved for the CSR this morning with a SL of $23 300!!

Stats at the time of application were:

AaoA: 10 months

AoOA: 13 months

FICO8: 741 (TU/EQ), 745 (EX)

2 INQ each CRA

Utilization: 0% (<$200)

4/24 cards: BoA Cash Rewards ($23800), Amex Bonvoy Brilliant ($30000), Amex Gold, Discover IT ($3050).

I cannot believe I have gone from no US credit history to over $80 000 in total CL in 13 months. Much thanks to the knowledge I have gained from the MyFico forums. Thanks!

I am thinking to do the MDD with the CSP tomorrow. Should I voluntarily reduce the CSR limit beforehand, and how does one go about doing that?

Why would you need to have both the CSR and CSP? Especially when Chase's rules expressly forbid you from having both at the same time? Chase is likely to conduct a post approval review of your accounts and will shut down your cards down if your game playing is detected.

Seems like you've been reading too much reddit/r/churning.

I have and, yeah, you are probably right. I should be (and am!) very happy about getting the card that was at the top of my list.

...still want the Amex Platinum though, then I am officially done.

One question on meeting the MSR. I have a $4125 payment for a sailboat rental coming due and so could do it in one go. Would Chase frown upon one of the first transactions being this large? Even better if this coded as "travel" for the 3x but I guess that is unlikely.

My first transaction on the CSR (I had « only » the minimum 10k limit back then) was for 5k at IKEA — moving in. The did not have any issue with it, apart from sending me a fraud text after the transaction has been approved.

Wow, all that in one year. Chase Boa and Amex must really like your high income to give you such high limits right out the gate. Im assuming you had credit elsewhere internationally?. Enjoy

My first transaction with my CSR was a $10,000 payment at a car dealership. I called the number on the card for authorization and they transferred me to the fraud department which approved the transaction; the rep in the fraud dept. even stayed on the phone with me until the card was swiped and the transaction cleared.

Chase has a very expansive definition of what they consider travel, so who knows, you might get lucky and have the sailboat rental coded as travel.

Nothing internationally that has been of any help (e.g. Amex' Global Transfer Programme) so this is all from scratch and a big helping of luck - such as BoA giving us an unsecured $1500 SL CC from day one in the country and Amex handing out the Gold card with no credit score and 3 months history. It's all been soft pulls, CLI requests and responsible use from there.

Congratz on your nice approval and growth. If it was me, I might wait a couple months before getting the plat...just to be safe sense chase was so loving to your profile. Don't want to give them a thought to second guess what they did for you...ofc ymmv and you might be fine..
