CareCredit TU SP CLI 500 --> 6000

Hi folks!

Just some data points to share. CareCredit just upped me from $500 to $6,000 with a soft-pull from TransUnion. I've been a cardholder since last October, when I began rebuilding.

I'm now up to $25,300 in unsecured lines of credit, starting at ZERO dollars in October 2018. Man, it's been awesome knowing that if my air conditioner blows or the car breaks down, I'll be able to sort things out and still be able to eat and pay rent.

Once in October, when my cat was having a urinary problem. That was maybe $280. Since then, I just put about $40/month on it for his prescription food, and pay it before the statement cuts.

Sweet deal. Can I ask, when you applied did you have to specify where you would be using the card? Can you use it for yourself like at the dentist, your dog and any medical that accepts care credit?

I think if you apply at the point of service, then it's more like an installment loan application that's attached to a specific provider. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't use the card wherever you choose. You use that line of credit anywhere it's accepted, which now also includes WalMart pharmacy.

If you do it online, then I believe you CAN specify where you'll get the work done, but you don't have to. They do ask how much you expect the procedures to cost.

That's great news, I app'd for my son for dental, he got the card....now he has cancelled/postponed the appt. and I was thinking that was a waste of a hp and time. He has a dog so he will be very glad to know he can use it afterall. Thanks for your time and congrats again.

Synchrony has definitely been the most generous with my CareCredit card. I can't even remember where I started, but I opened mine in Sept. 2018. I'm pretty sure I started at $3,000. I've received several CLI's and I just received a CLI on that card last week from $6,000 to $9,600. I hate when they have an odd number like that, but I shouldn't really complain, should I? I just use it to pay for my Botox and pay it off in about 3 months.

OMG! You should NOT have said Botox! Now I'm going to be thinking about using it to swim upstream against my nearly-40-year old face!

I learned the hard way that less is more when it comes to Botox. I started with my crows feet and it looked GREAT! So I then decided to do my forehead, and again, looked amazing. Then I went a little further with the little wrinkles under my eyes and that’s where it went wrong. My face took about a month to recover from that and I will never again go overboard! I’ll stick with just my crows feet from now on and maybe my forehead.

I like using my CareCredit card because it gives me the opportunity to pay it off in 6 months. Although, I always pay it off much sooner. They have good bundles for Botox and I usually buy a couple sessions at once and save about $200.

Maybe I'll do it when I go on vacation. What happens in Vegas ... comes home with me on my face. :-P But you're right -- the promotional financing is pretty sweet. I'm just wondering if I shouldn't use my Amex, which still has 12 monts @ 0% interest, and then use the CareCredit for such things after that expires.

This gives me hope! I also opened my card in October for my dog's care and was only given $600 SL. My TU went from 608 to 681 due to a valid dispute being finalized, so here's hoping they give me an increase.

I would love peace of mind in case my dog gets sick again. The only bad thing is I feel like they lag two months behind so I am stuck waiting to get that CLI. Or attempt to. I assume TU 681 would qualify for something better than $600...
