Citi Costco Visa Approval?

Hi there!

I'm new to this forum, so apologies if I posted this in the wrong area.

Today I applied for the Costco Anywhere Visa, and the application was seemingly going smoothly until I got to the acceptance/denial page. I was approved for a $4k limit, which was great news to me. However, I checked my email right after that, and it said that my application was under review and needed to be reviewed manually. I called the application status number to confirm this and indeed my application is under review.

Additionally, after I tried to create my login credentials, there was an error on the page. Does anyone know what is going on with my application?

If needed, my Experian Fico 8 is a 662 according to Amex, TU 658 from Discover AAoA around 9 months, and have 3 current cards, 2 opened since May.

This happened to me with my Citi AA card. I ended up calling shortly after my app went pending after showing the approval splash page. After verifying some basic info, they said I was approved and my app had simply just gotten snagged immediately after the application was approved and they just needed to bump it along. Others here on the forums have had it happen, too, and have waited it out and gotten an approval email a couple/12 hours later. Hope this helps!

Wow, nice! Congratulations and welcome to the best place on the planet for credit scoring information!

After you get your January statement, your card should be 6 months old since it will be dated from the 1st of July. (On August 1st it will be 1 month old as seen by FICO scoring.)

You can request a credit limit increase at this time without a hard pull/inquiry. It's under Services->Credit Card Services->Request a Credit Limit Increase.

You should see the following sentence: "A credit bureau report will not be requested and you will receive an instant decision."

I also have this card and just used that to get a credit limit increase (CLI), although I waited until it was 7 months old.

Do you know how generous Citi is with CLI's? Are there any certain criterion that I should take into consideration (ex: 3x Amex rule). I'm more familiar with Amex and Discover's CLI rules (even though Discover can be hit-or-miss for many and can be hard to predict lol).

Kind of stingy, really, when just talking about the Costco card. I think you could get $1500 easily after 6 months and possibly $2500.

They are really pushing this card in the warehouses lately, and this article mentions Citi taking on more credit risk to spur growth. So maybe the CLIs might get better.

Citi may offer sp cli every 6 months, if you are eligble. Not all of us can get as ny Citi luv but at least there is the possibilty lol. Most sp cli average about $1500, though you could get less or more. But once you get cli, you wont be able to get more for 6 months unless they give you auto. Enjoy your new card
