Chase Amazon Card Declined...BUT recon got me approved!

Chase still essentially hates me for burning them for $850 in BK of 2014 I guess because even though I have 15k+ limits on numerous cards now, they have never approved me. So, called Recon after online denial and after a 20 min phone call they approved me for...$500!! Hey, I burned 'em, I get it, and it's my first Chase since then so I'll take it and (hopefully) watch it grow.

I filed my BK7 the same month and year. What did they ask during the recon? I may want to apply for a Chase card but hesitant due to BK. I didn't burn Chase, though.

Wow, you overturned a BK denial which is amazing enough but a BK denial that’s also an IIB?! Congrats!

Can you provide some other DPs? You must have a very desirable profile for Chase to overturn their denial.

They asked me specifics about old accounts, payments made to various creditors before the BK, details about WHY I filed, etc. Was quite in depth lol

My Ficos average about 695 right now, income is high at 140k, own a home with mortgage since 2017, no lates or dings since BK in 2014, my usage is under 10% and inquiries are a little high with maybe 10 so far this year. I only got $500 SL so they’re definitely not rolling out the red carpet lololol

That’s still very impressive. BK has been a hard stop for Chase for awhile. There hadn’t been any successful BK recons in quite awhile period, let alone when Chase was IIB so huge congrats to you and you might want to go buy a lottery ticket

Congrats on the recon. HOWEVER, I have a grudge against them. I app'ed for a card (in a branch) that they had be PRE APPROVED for, and gave me the "we need to review your request... blah blah 10 days..." message and was declined. BS CHASE.. BS...

I've been in Insurance Sales for 25 years so that helps lol. Tough to rattle me on the phone They did sound like they'd just given me the keys to a new Ferrarri when they told me my $500 card had been approved though
