$3,000 CLI on Quicksilver (Originally Plat.) NOW A WORLD MASTERCARD!

Original card was a Cap1 Platinum and was PC'd to a Quicksilver after 3rd statement cut. SL was $3k and increased to $3.5k with Credit Steps auto CLI. Waited 6 months after my Credit Steps CLI and requested another. Offered $3k CLI and took it. Total CL is now $6,500

EDIT 10/25/19: Just got an email from Cap1 telling me that they upgraded my card to a World Mastercard! Nice!

If your starting limit was $3K, is that truly a credit steps card? Seems to be a high limit for the credit steps program.

It was a Credit Steps card. I have seen a few other $3k starting limits on Credit Step cards. Not sure why they chose to start me out with a high SL. Cap1 is weird like that.

So, are customers supposed to know about PCs themselves? I feel cheated that Cap1 didn't tell me! LOL. I found out about PCs and the Cap1 product upgrade link on the internet...I also got a big increase on my 2nd Platinum card last month. They were very generous last month LOL.

It pops up for some people in the "I want to..." link under account options, although that was not the case for me. I could possibly still be rocking my Platinum card if it wasn't for the PC link in these forums.

Cap1 must be feeling generous lately. I too got a sp 3k limit increase taking me to 24k on my venture. Next up to pc to a savor from qs. Then work on barclays. See if I can get them to budge..lol! Prob not, but never hurts to try. Almost like milking a cow. Congrats on your cli's

Congrats! I'm just so confused. I was with them for 6 statements and they wouldn't upgrade me. Said I had to apply for a new one despite being pre-qualified. I didn't want to use a HP for that so I just closed it to get my deposit back. Le sigh!

I reapplied, got the triple pull but also got a way better card with a way better limit.

Thats exactly what I did. 4 years ago I got a 300.00 limit plat. that and a barclays at 500. I sat on them. No apps just gardened except for soft pulls. Scores in the mid 500s. Baddies n and a bk reporting. But I used cards extensively and responsibly without applying for more. Then almost 2 years in, i checked preapp for cap1. bamm, venture 15k opening line with baddies, bk, 1 acct included, 5 months late. Its a process, slow and tedious, but with responsible use, the whole picture comes into play, not just a score. Great interest rates here now, keeping more of my money in my pocket, instead of high interest. Goals, and patience persevere.

If you're talking about getting a Barclays card (and not a CLI), dude, ***I*** got one, so I'm sure that you can get one LOL. I actually reconned bc I got declined. I didn't realize that I had left a zero off my salary. But, I still have lots of student loan delinquencies. CL is only $1,000, but still shocking. They're super nice, too.

@sealifer, are you talking about your platinum? same thing happened to me. i had a secured card and got my promised increase after 5 payments. i called about 10 months into having the card to see if it was unsecured. i don't think that i asked for cli, but i asked about unsecuring and they said that they don't do it anymore and that i had to apply for a new card. i was told that there wouldn't be another deposit, so i applied and got another card w 500 cl. got the auto increase to 750 5 statements later, then 4 months later they auto gave me the increase to 3250. first card still sitting at 500. *shrugs*

cr101, I have barclays already. 2 actually, but lower limits, 7k. I call every 3 months to see about a sp upgrade. They prob laugh, and say, hey you all, hes back on the phone again asking, lol. They are polite I give you that. But 4 years with them should mean something.

and sealifer, while i did take a additional hp at c1, when i did start at c1 with 300, I now sit at 29k with them. and much better rate on second card as well. Patience and gardening does pay.

Saw that my Plat card had the "Activate Card" option under it in the app. I was confused as to why I would be getting a new card until about an hour later when I got an email that says they are upgrading my card to a World Mastercard. Works for me!
