NAVY FED new prequalification tool! 3rd card approved

Hey guys,

So I heard about Navy Fed new prequalification tool which will SP your credit report and your internal score within Navy to see if you are prequalified for any of their cards. I currently have 2 cards with them (Go and Cash rewards). I wanted a 3rd card. GoRewards utilization is at 90% (Yea, I know) and Cash Rewards is at 54%.

I called and provided my information to the credit card department - after a few mins of providing my info, she stated I was prequalified for all of their cards even with my current utilization. I have been a member with them since 2016 and I also have LOC with them also. I told her I wanted to go for the Amex More Rewards. She put in application and I was approved. So I think the prequalification tool is pretty SOLID!

I just called and they told me they don't have a way to prequalify. I guess maybe they only can if you already have a card with them. I'm waiting til my lower utilization reports before I apply for my first.

Congrats on the new card. Just make sure you pay off the others with high utilization one being maxed before using the new card as it can get nasty if you are just trying to lower your overall utilization by this method?
