Approved for Wells Fargo Propel....

I applied for the Chase Sapphire Preserve and got denied due to a previous negative relationship with them 7-8 years ago. Unfortunately I had a rough go at it 9-10 years ago as I had to abandon my credit responsibilities to care for my ex-wife and her mental health. Finally 3 years ago I got a fresh start by everything dropping off and I’ve been extra anal about my credit.

I don’t need many other credit cards but really just have my mind set on a Preserve sometime in the future.

Needless to say, I was a little bit upset in my first denial and decided to go after the Propel Card since I’ve been banking with Wells Fargo for a long time.

Got approved for a CL of $15,000.

Now to garden for a while and try again next year for that Preserve!

Having gone the Propel route myself you scored double what they gave me which is pretty damned good in my book!

Chase will always be there when you're ready for Reserve level spending.

Shrug it off and go makee that 30K points show up on your new Propel!!

Great approval. They wont tough me with a 10 foot pole due to me credit seeking among available credit, etc.. nice approval for this card it appears your long relationship certainly helped!

Chase keeps its own blacklist and people have been known to stay on it for a long time. Others have been lucky and got back in in just 3 years

I'm kind of surprised you haven't gotten into WF. They didn't seem to put up much of a fight for the approval. Recon of the CL though.... had that new car smell and they wanted to see history.... so, I go to charge the 3K spend for the points and they halted the account thinking it was fraud. Quick call cleared it up but, a little hesitant to use it for obscene amounts that their computers will flag. Not sure what the threshold is but, the car insurance went through under 1K just fine but, breaching 1K they stopped them.

Congrats. I like persoanly like the card. I got it despite having similar benefits on the Costco visa, but don't have to wait up to a year to get the cb. Great sl, I only got $11,000 sl, with a wf relationship, but i have been a bit trigger happy recently, and gave a relatively young file.

I was approved for $9k with no relationship with Wells and in 6 months applied for a cli and received one for $3k.
