oh my pigs do fly - Discover CLI

Well has been about 6-9 months since my last discover CLI, I mesh that button about once a week and typical no soup for you. Hit it today and expecting a denial or a 500 CLI they actually gave me a $2500. still very cheap and no more love for them as still one of my lowest CL's, but i will take it. TU .> 800 bringing my discovercard to 17,500.. I have had to combine cards and claw over years to get this more reasonable line although still wont use it other than 5% cats as have better BT offers when needed etc. Just a DP . tempted to call in and take a hp on TU and try to get it up to 30-40k but doubt discover would be that generous with the amount of credit i already have.

I don't think spend means a thing to discover just use them some on 5% cats although most of my other cards are better than their 5% cats or overlap. Put about 1-2 dollars a months tops on card and sometimes like 10 dollars a month if a worthless month or just don't care to carry the card as keep about 5 cards in wallet and discover 99% of the time isnt one of them. Rest are in safe on rotation

EDIT: called in and got another 500 so 3k CLI.. Biggest yet from them. Hopefully next month i might get another one, but highly doubtful. Figured I would make this one count hence reason for call. So limit is 18k now..Getting there oh so slowly. Will be happy when it crosses the 20k threshold as most other cards are 25k+

I’m glad to see it’s not just me. I’ve cycled over $35,000 so far this year on my It card, and getting CLI’s have been like pulling teeth with Discover. I’ve got one small one, whereas Synchrony has been very generous - 9K worth of CLI this year!

Yeppers usually people with high scores and alot of credit are the ones discovers dislikes while they throw money hand over fist with others regardless of spend. Suppose it works for discover and they know their target audience and i am not one of them persay .

I’m using it daily now, but will use it mainly for the 5% categories and maybe gift cards after the cash back match ends. Other than CL, I have no issues with them so far. I like their website and the card has been accepted at all but a few places I’ve tried to use it. Honestly, I wish Discover offered a flat 2% card.

I haven't tried since last increase, I'll wait till December then ask for another 0% apr. If they do that, I may park some money there.

Otherwise it's a no go.
