BECU Visa Approval

I applied to BECU a few days ago. I read some threads where BECU gives liberal SLs and to be honest, I had to google BECU. I thought, WTH, my BIL works for the Portland OR plant so I applied. Approved for membership without requiring to provide his name, employee number etc.

I did not see any pre approved offers so I applied for the low rate Visa. It cycled for what seemed like hours, and came back with "your application is under review". I recently went on an app spree and was awarded: 3rd NFCU card, Apple Card, Citi Double cash, and Duck Unlimited. I also purchased a new car and a personal loan to pay some CC debt. I have 9 INQ (8 from the past 2 weeks) and none of the recent loans have reported yet.

My TU F08 score is 720, ~20% utilization, the only baddie is BK7 JAN2011. AAOA is about 6 years with oldest account 14 years (Student loans survived BK7).

About an hour later, I logged in to my account and found an approval for $2500. Now this is my lowest CL of all my 15 Credit/retail cards. I accepted since I already took the HP hit and my AAOA will drop about 10 months due to the 6 other new accounts.

Does anyone have experience with recon the SL or future CLI's?

I have no experience with recon (nor can I recall anyone sharing their experiences here), but I got my first CLI ($5k) at 70 days with a HP. I seem to remember somebody else here (either Green or UH_HUH) got a CLI fairly quickly as well. Best of luck and enjoy BECU!

8 inquiries in the past 2 weeks is a lot.

At least you got approved and it wasn't for a $500 toy limit.

I would use your card wisely and in 6 months ask for a CLI.

I guess it is a matter of perspective. I really do not care how many I have since they will all age off at the same time. The key is will the Banks/CU's think it is a lot.

My SL is $2,500 which is the lowest CL. My next lowest is one card at $5K, then several at $10~15K with 4 at $25K

Pretty much this ^^^

I'd be grateful for the approval regardless what you currently hold elsewhere. At least it wasn't denied and there may be potential for growth at some point.
