CFU and CSP!

I have a very thin and rather bad credit profile.. 615 all across the board myFICO scores. 2 open credit cards, 1 OpenSky $200 limit and a CapOneQS1 with a $500 limit along with 2 Open collections. I logged into my chase app because I’ve used chase as my personal bank for years now and I see I’m prequalified for a bunch of cards. With my bad credit profile I couldn’t believe it but I said ah what the heck and pulled the trigger on the chase freedom unlimited and was approved with a $900 SL! For someone who was barely prequalified for a first premier card I was in disbelief! After about an hour I was like screw it let me test my luck on the CSP and I was approved with a 5K SL! I don’t know why or what’s going on but I’m more than grateful!

Congrats on getting these cards - hopefully your long banking relationship proves to be the difference-maker, as Chase is known to terminate second cards when taken soon after a first card. Crossing fingers that they both last

How soon after would they terminate my second card? I’m still shocked they even approved me..

I have no Chase cards so I can’t say for sure but I believe if they’re going to do it, it’ll happen within a week or so. You’d keep the first one though - they’d leave that open. Like I said though, maybe your banking history with them will override that. I’m certainly hoping so - having both of these would be a great score to help you reconstruct your profile!

What would you say are the odds this cancellation will happen? Do you think I can have them cancel the CFU instead of the CSP?

That's a huge upgrade getting the CFU/CSP from the card you currently had.

Make sure that you can spend enough to hit the bonuses. CFU should be easy $200 (20k points) for $500 dollar spend in 3 moths. CSP is tough at 60k points for $4,000 spend in 3.
