Redstone FCU Visa Signature approved 15k!

After some back and forth with REDFCU. They finally got me verified. I was told membership was supposed to be a SP. But it was not.

I ended up with two HPs for these guys. One way to join them is through https://www.landtrustnal.org/join/ . You can become a sustaining member for $5. Anyone can join. Apparently the company I work for fell under one of the 1500 ways to join. So I didn't have to go the landtrust route.

I was also told as long as I was fine with the $15K approval. It didn't have to be submitted to UW for review in order to sign off for a higher limit. As deep as my credit report is, the last thing I want is a UW going over my reports!

Card is at 9.5%/15k SL, no FTF. More of a no frills. But since it was a new CU to me. I said hey why not give it a try? lol

Their price you pay for credit has me at a 789 FICO9 EX, 13 inqs. Apparently they use EX FICO 9 scoring for credit. My reports have been hammered the last couple of months!

I still have one app pending out there somewhere.

Be careful how you fund the initial accounts. I've been giving the fraud departments of some of these CU's fits lately. As my main banks aren't close to where I live. So I've been getting locked out of accounts left and right! Very frustrating!!

As prevalant as online banking is these days, you'd think they'd understand that.

Sound interesting but I have joined way too many banks lately and the out of state jump throughs like with BECU not ready for that again quite yet ☺️

Out of state is fine. Just make sure the bank you fund the account with is near you. lol I have bank accounts from one side of the US to the other. My main one happens to be in the middle of the US and I live in Alabama!

I joined them mainly to take advantage of the 5% APY on their savings account, up to $2500.

Yeah BECU has given me some trouble as well. I've talked to several supervisors! So trust me I understand your pain.

One of the management from Redstone actually called me and apologized, after her work hours. It changed how I felt about them initially.

You'd be fine with them. Don't think you'd have the problems I've had. lol

You also can become an instant member by applying for a https://www.ruralking.com/harvest credit card. If they are in your state.

Those are instant approvals normally and a quick way in.

@Gmood1 Let it be you that finds an obscure out of the way credit union that deals in a military area for rockets, missiles, and chemical weapons. See why you had trouble on approval!

They saw you more as a rural person that milks cows and they could not see the correlation with their areas of focus! All about images!

Yeah I'm definitely a country boy. That's for sure! Redstone comes in at 35th largest credit union in the country. No where near the largest but also no where near the smallest either. The crazy part is they and I are in the same state! @Anonymous You'd have an easier time joining than I did.

Question for you @Gmood. Do they seem to be concerned about DTI ratios as many "picky" CU are these days?

This one would be right up your alley. Lol

Not inq sensitive, new accounts sensitive, TCL sensitive.
I saw some data here. One person had high util on several CCs. He was also approved instantly.
Probably the least sensitive CU I've dealt with.
If in the 700s, I think the approvals would be golden!
I haven't checked lately. But you have to remember the average credit score in this state. Is probably in the mid 600's.

Yeah, I think if I had used one of my state local banks to make the first transfer.

I'd bypassed the push back I received initially. Living in Alabama and transferring funds from Oklahoma, might have been a bad idea. 😂

If you have a Rural Harvest King in your state.

It would be one HP for CC and membership.
