US Bank Altitude Reserve approval

I'm a horrible gardener. I had originally planned on cooling my heels and waiting until 2021 when I was under 5/24 so I could go for the Chase Sapphire Reserve, but I caved in and applied for the US Bank Altitude Reserve last night instead.

It wasn't an instant approval. I got a message saying that they couldn't approve my application right away and would be in touch in 3-5 days. I did get a HP on Experian right away. I assumed that it was a decline, but I called the underwriting line where it said it could not find an application. Huh? Well, maybe they just need some time to get it in the system. So I went online and tried the same thing and it told me that they couldn't identify me as a customer. About an hour later when I was resigned to it being a NO, when I got an email congratulating on the approval with a SL of $24,500.

Here are my data points for reference: accounts opened are 6/12, 12/24, scores around 785-810 depending on the bureau. The HP was from my lowest that also has 15 inquiries in 2y but just 5 within the last year. My newest account is 4 months old with Comenity. I previously had no relationship with US Bank and opened a checking with them in December.

I'm looking forward to getting the card. I hear it's a nice study metal and the card has some decent bonus and perks.

It's been awhile since we've seen anyone approved with more than 4/12 new cards. I wonder if they're easing up.

Maybe it's the timing since a few were very close to aging off of 12 months. If I had waited a week then I would be at 2/12 - I'm just too darned impatient!
