The Capital one standard $3000 max credit limit increase how to get it.

My cap one Quicksilver has been stuck at 10k forever. Dont use it a lot, have run 4k balances and paid them off still no increase.

I just got a $3000 increase. This seems to be cap one's max increase at a time. I remember this from before

I HADN"T USED THE CARD IN 6 MO!

I simply owed 10k on another card, had the cash to pay it. Instead of paying that card I did a 10k balance transfer on my quicksilver that posted a couple days after my statement date. I paid it off the day before my next statement date.

Cap one has no balance transfer fees so effectively i borrowed the 10k for 28 days for free.

Next time i applied for increase 3k approved.

It seems that for a CLI the usage of the card may not be that important but if you make payments near your crediti limit that trigrers you for an increase. I remember that happening over and over with my Discover although the limit now at 45k would be hard to make that kind of payment without some kind of planned activity.

I have received CLIs as high as $8,000 on Cap One QS.

Dh recently received a $3k cli, his Spark also received a $3k cli and I too just got a $3k cli so maybe that's Cap1's Average high cli perhaps?

I did not know that about the 0 BT fee -- interesting. Congrats! on a very nice CLI (and gaming the system a bit).

Question: I have no balance on any of my Cap 1 cards so it I BTd after a statement cut, wouldn't I have until the following statement's due date to PIF?

Example:

Statement 1 cuts 3/2 with $0 balance, due date 3/27;

Balance Transfer to Cap 1 of $5,000 on 3/5;

Statement 2 cuts 4/2 with $5000 balance, due date 4/27;

Wouldn't this scenario be interest-free until 4/27?

@JamesA it would appear that your scenario would indeed be interest free till 4/27... but I have not yet tried it personally.
