First Recon Success! Finally in the Chase Eco System

first off..thank you so much to everyone on here with all the great info!

the forum mods and members have been very beneficial to my credit rebuilding.

this month, i got my fico score up to a decent score (737) and my credit util down to 9%.

saw posts from @seattletravels and @RomeoLowe with their chase freedom success.

and then i saw this teasing me on my experian account

i started feeling really confident, even though i didn't have any prequalifications under my chase checking account, so i decided to go for the cold app.

right after submitting, instant denial with the "wait 7-10 days for explanation" message on the screen.

decided to call the chase recon line right away. little nervous since it'll be my first time calling a recon line and trying to persuade someone to change their decision.

the person on the phone was nice but didn't really want to small talk or anything. just went straight to business.

verified my application and explained to me that i was denied cause my history is young and thin. she then went through the profile and score on my experian report and says that things look good.

then she asked me to verify my identification and personal info.

i gave her the info (income & employer name). she put me on hold for about 10 minutes.

comes back on and says congratulations, you have been approved for the chase freedom with a starting limit of $4k.

expect your welcome package in about a week.

freedom card with sl already showing up on my chase online account.

finally got into chase and i'm at the 5/24 mark now with inquiries.

time to garden for at least a year so i can go for the sapphire later.

some info.

only got notification that my experian profile got a hard inquiry after i submitted.

my experian score as of today is 747. util at 9%

had 4 inquries on file 8/19, 9/19, 12/19, 1/20 (denial mentioned that i had too many recent inquiries)

no late payments, no collections or derogs.

oldest revolver is from 2016 but am an autorized user. oldest non au revolver is only 5 months old.

feel free to ask for info i might have left out.

**update (2/21/2020)**

got a notification from equifax that a hard pull was hit last night.

so both experian and equifax were hp for this inquiry

Is there anyway you could list all your accounts just so that we have an understanding of what your file looks like. It sounds like you have a lite file... Authorize users and one primary... Could you list specifics

sure. again, my file is very thin.

that's why i got the instant denial even with the 747 experian score i had.

au on costco citi $10.5k cl opened July 2016

cap one secured $200 cl opened September 2019

discover it cashback $3k cl opened December 2019

and a self lending loan $2400 with $1500 left on the balance.

no lates ever posted.

no collections, derogs, etc.

i had 4 inquiries since august 2019 - jan 2020.

util at 9%

amex platinum hasn't reported on file yet when pulled.

this is all that was on my file when i called for recon.
