Apple Credit Card and NFCU cashRewards Approval!

Hi all!

So today I got approved for the Apple Card @ $1,000 (21%) and the NFCU cashRewards card @ $5,000 (18%). I've been an NFCU member for a year and currently hold a secured platinum card, checking/savings accounts and an auto loan all opened when I became a member. I have never been late on any payments with Navy Fed and my FICO scores are pretty low due to high utilization but, over the last few weeks, I've paid off about $5,000 in personal loan and credit card debt and plan on paying off another $7,000 in March with a sign-on bonus for a new job. This should bring my overall utilization below 30%!

I do have a question - my NFCU platinum is paid off and I've had it for a year at a $500 secured line. I've read about graduating from secured to unsecured after some time but about a month ago I tried getting a CLI and was denied due to "being at the highest limit for a secured line of credit". What do I need to do to graduate now that I've been approved for an unsecured cashRewards card with NFCU?

For those who are wondering specifics - my TU Fico 9 for the Apple Card is a 580 and my FICO 8s are EQ - 556, TU - 590, and EX - 611. These scores do not reflect some of the aforementioned payments I made this month.

Congrats on your approvals! As for your NFCU secured, have you tried sending them a secured message requesting an account review? Other than that, just waiting til they decide to unsecure you is really your only option. If you have a small recurring bill, maybe put that on the card so you have some small, constant monthly spend that you can PIF easily.
