Avant Card Approval Quick Question

So I just got approved for Avant card card starting limit of $1000.00.

I was checking their preapproval web site once a month and kept getting approved for $750.00 which I didnt accept, I was waiting for $1000.00 which I got today.

How are they with CLI's? My card has an 39.00 annual fee. Anyway o can get that waved? How is Avant overall as.l a company and a card?

I have this card. Started with $750 CL, increased to $1000 at six months. I requested increase via phone, was not automatic and took 2 days for approval. I really believe the max limit on this card is $1000. Request to waive the $39 annual fee was denied. No problems using the card but have had to have the card replaced twice within a year's time due to fraud. Each time, I saw no indication of fraud but Avant fraud department contacted me to say small charges outside the USA had been attempted. Both times they reissued a new card right away. Not sure why this card is so open to fraud. It is backed by WebBank the same company that backs Fingerhut and Avant loans. YMMV

Sure.

It was a soft pull until I accepted the offer then a hard pull.

They pulled Transunion. My Transunion score is 654. I have 14 baddies on that report between charge offs and collections. Some paid some not.

I guess Avant uses Web bank. I had a Dell charge off from Web Bank I recently paid that was sold to Portfolio Recovery Associates.

I just spoke with Customer Service today on the telephone and max starting limit is 1000.00. Max limit period is $8000.00.

Customer service seems pretty good so far, i know it was only one phone call but i liked the service.

Interesting...they seem to take the apple card approach i.e. soft pull to determine your credit limit and then hard if you accept. I just checked their site and they offered me $1000 SL. Didn't pull the trigger for the hard inquiry though. I don't know why most CC companies don't do this.

Agreed. I actually think it's a novel idea. When I get my card I'm going to try to get a CLI out the gate or an annual fee decrease

I opened this card back on July of 2018 as part of my rebuilt (BK Discharge 4/17) with a SCL of 1k. I've never received a auto a CLI (or ever requested one). I just received this email today. I don't plan to keep it long term becuase of the AF and no rewards. I'll get rid of it as soon as I get in with NFCU, but I'm in the garden for another 6 months.

The Avant Card is a nice subprime card.

I've had it for nine months now.

The ACH payments from my bank account are credited immediately, not a 5 to 10 days like others.
