Alright Fico fam, this is the day/moment I've been waiting for...91/3.

Back story is I joined Navy Fed back in Feb. 2020; applied for Platinum CC and was instantly approved for $17k...my scores were in the VERY low 600's at the time. I made the decision to make Navy Fed my primary FI, thanks to this thread and I think that it is probably the BEST decision that I could've made for myself.

I just hit the "luv" button (but not before saying a prayer) and asked for $25k....guess what??? APPROVED!!!! My scores are currently 699 (TR) and. 707 (EQ)....no hp alerts so far.

It gets better though....I went for that second card that everyone talks about and got an INSTANT $20k SL!!! Hp alert on TR came through immediately afterwards. Now I'm done... off to the garden I go. I really want to buy a house soon and I refuse to add any more inquiries! I'm VERY pleased with Navy Fed and would recommend them to anyone who is eligible to join!

ETA: I was approved for the Go Rewards card with a 9.99% APR (😒)...it's though bc I never carry a balance.

For all those that are wondering on whether to take their chances with Navy Fed, let me tell that this forum has them down to a science...almost LITERALLY! 91/3 WORKS!!!

Congrats on both cli and new cards. If you really want to buy a house soon, I definitely would not apply to any more cards. It's not just your inquiries, it's your AoYA, AAoA that take a hit. Bordering 700, you really want to not go down any further for optimal rates. You don't want to kick yourself in the butt if you are just below of that next tier of lower interest rates on a several hundred thousand dollar purchase (if not more).

@randomguy1 @Thanks for that nugget! I've already been pre approved but I'm still going to wait it out for another year.

My AAoA is 17yrs and obviously my AoYA is the one that I got last night. Like I said, I'm done with cards...(probably for the next decade); my rebuild is solid and it's time to head over to the garden until next summer!
