Update: Legit! American Express Pre-Approval Legit?

So I usually check for American Express preapprovals once a month and I always get the "sorry we couldnt match blah blah".

Well this morning i got this. If it is legit which card is the best?

I couldn't wait lol. It was legit. Data points:

Experian Fico: 680

Negatives on the report: 4 unpaid charge offs (roughly 2 years old), 2 paid charge offs (roughly 2 years old)

10 Inq last 2 years (2 last 60 days)

Credit limit...................................................I must have missed it on the screen i have to call new accounts tomorrow and get the limit. Card will be here in 3 to 5 days.

I did burn them back in 1994/1995 with a green card. lets do things right this time.

That's certainly a lot they could hold against you, but congrats on the approval. Go back at 61 days and get your 3X CLI if possible and get started on that train with stops every 181 days after that.

200 -> 600 -> 1800 -> 5400 ->16200 in just over two years if they approve them all. Soft pulls so can't hurt to ask.

Congratulations on your approval! That's fantastic news. I always go on there every few months to gauge how I'm doing on moving into prime cards. For a year, I received the pre-qualification for the Gold charge card and sometimes another charge card with an AF. But this month is the first time I've received a pre-qual for one of their no AF credit cards. The Blue Cash Everyday card also popped up for me. It was the best feeling to be prequalified for an Amex credit card. I don't plan on applying. But, still, it is a great feeling.

I hope it's a great SL for you, but even if on the lower end, you're back in with Amex.

I will certainly congratulate you for the approval! But I have also got to add you must have the biggest...ahem, in the world to have apped with the marks you put down. Congrats!😇
