BofA Cash Rewards 100% CLI SP - after 2nd review

I've had this card with BofA since 2003. No issues, always great behavior from me with great credit, income, low DTI and very low Util.

In 2008 they slashed my limit from $30,000 to $3000. I was FURIOUS and despite the economic concerns at the time, I was still angry. Put the card away, used it once or twice a year to buy a tank of gas and then immediately paid that off. Did that for another 10 years.

Sometime around 2018 I think, started to see the link to Request CLI, I did and got it doubled from $3000 to $10,000. However, still kept using it for a tank of gas one or twice a year.

Fast forward to 2020, and I keep seeing all these BofA posts with SP CLI's approved and new accounts with high SL's and felt like I needed some love. Requested a CLI from $10K to $15K and got the "wait and see" note. Called CSR the next day, she said it was declined and that a letter was coming and I could speak to their Credit Analyst and she told me to call 800-261-2986. I did, chatted up the guy and explained my story...he says "You know, I have no idea why this was declined, you meet every criteria for approval other than usage has been low." and I explained reason being was that I didn't want it to statement at 30% or 40% Util if I used it and then statement generated with a small limit. He said..."I will manually submit this for you for reconsideration and you should get a call back in 72 hours" I knew they weren't going to do a HP as we talked about my report and score and I knew they did SP's for CLI. I was skeptical I'd get the call back let alone an approval but today...BINGO! He called me back, told me he submitted the secondary review approval for $20,000 and it was approved! Persistence and patience paid off. Thanks Bank of America!

I'd definitely be annoyed at that cut too, but good on you for going for the recon and getting the CLI. Congrats!
