Back in with AMEX!

I was approved for the Hilton Surpass with a $5,000 CL at 19.24%. I am hoping for backdating to 2005. I decided to go for a second, in the hopes of two approvals with 1 HP, and also applied for the SPG – got “in progress” status. I have tried calling the new accounts line to follow up, but it doesn’t appear to be open on Sundays.

While I was at it, I also applied for the Southwest card while the bonus is still 50,000 points – approved for $15,000.

In light of this weekend’s happenings, I hope I haven’t put myself on the radar with Chase. What’s done is done. I will be happily gardening for the foreseeable future.

Just got off the phone with AMEX about my SPG app. CSR told me it's still being processed. They have some "internal checks" to complete and will have an answer by Friday. I suppose I'll just be patient and let this work its way through. Either way, I'm super happy!

Congrats on both! Especially that Southwest card. The 50k bonus is amazing. Got me a whole bunch of flights when I booked them early enough with the Gotta Get Away Fare. Enjoy!
