Finally in with NAVY after pay back my BK balance, and back in with Synchrony verizon card.

Hi everyone,

Special thanks to AllZero. The last 3 days I called NAVY offering to pay back the $2400 I owe from my BK, I was transferred to the BK department offering my payment through my checking account, after doing so I was told to wait for 24 hrs for the payment to be cleared and the warning message will be removed, so I waited 3 days and this morning no warning. well, its time to give it a shot, so I did the prequalification and the secured card showed up but I didn't stop there and I went for the cashback cold application, came back No Go. I did the pre-qualification again and voila secured again, at this point I didn't have a choice and went ahead and applied for it, and as you can see approved for the $200 as planned. On 08/02 I applied for the Verizon visa card and was approved for $1500.

@WhiteCollar, For some rebuilding after a BK or getting back in with a lender is a big deal!

The card will eventually graduate to unsecured status.(I believe it can be as early as 7 months)

Upon graduation, the cardholder is usually given a higher limit (or can request one)

and is also given a rewards card IE: "GoRewards" or "CashRewards"

I have personally read some pretty awesome success stories.

I personally believe there are no small victories.

To some a $200.00 approval is just as great as a $50K approval is to others.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I am not here to convince you otherwise.

Just stating a few points. Also JMHO.

Be supportive. In the spirit of our FSR guidelines, remember that there are no small victories here. A $250 store card approval to a rebuilder is every bit as valuable as the $25K approval for those with excellent credit (I know--I've experienced both!).
Unique stories, unique responses. Should you have specific information or questions about the product, the CCC, or any other relevant information, post it! If you have relevant experiences to the OP, share and discuss. We encourage responses that are thread-specific as opposed to posting a one-word/phrase response over multiple threads (you may also consider the "Kudos" feature as a brief means of encouragement).

Sometimes the reader may interpret it differently than the author had intended. The community is just ensuring that we practice FSR.

We all had to start somewhere. Secured or unsecured, small or big CL. It is an achievement. Onward and upward with our credit journey.
