2 Discover CLI's - 2.5 months after last

For those of you interested in following the tea leaves on Discover's ever-changing CLI policies, there may have been a thaw:

Today I got CLI's on each of my 2 cards, one for 2k, the other for $500 (the @AverageJoesCredit special), just 2 1/2 months after my last CLI's.

(2 possible data points: (a) TU FICO 8 score on their site went up from 738 to 755. (b) There has been a slight change in my ordinary usage of one of the cards. Normally the only thing I use the Discover cards for is balance transfers, never for purchases. I paid off one of the two cards a few weeks ago, and started using it for the bonus purchase categories -- paypal & restaurant. That card got a $500 CLI, the other card got a $2k CLI.)

Meanwhile, I still have no balance transfer offers, so there's nothing for which I can use my shiny new credit limits.

Thats great SJ. Ive tried a couple times but i think ive poked too many times to try again due to Covid and still no job so ill live through you guys. Enjoy it

congrats and thanks for the datapoints.

i've have my discover it cashback since december and still haven't gotten an auto cli and have no been approved after a few requests.

my transunion is about to make a huge 70+ point jump after s derog has been taken off, and i have already maxxed out the 5% cashback this quarter for paypal and restaurants.

hopefully i'll get an auto soon.

I've never gotten an auto CLI from them. I've always had to ask.

I chatted with a rep today to ask if they were still sticking with their policy of no CLIs on cards <12mo old (thanks covid). Rep said that all cardholders are ineligible for CLI until the 1st day of 13th month.

Well clearly the CSR was giving you misinformation, because I got both of mine 2 1/2 months after my previous CLI's.

Is your card less than one year old?

Edit to add: I've been told that this new policy has been in place, consistently, by 3 reps and 1 analyst, whom I've spoken with periodically since the start of the pandemic shutdowns in US. The no-CLI policy does not apply to cards over one year old.

I've never gotten an auto CLI from them. I've always had to ask.

I got one from Disco at the 12 month mark on my card, but that was years and years ago. Also, grtz on your CLIs!
