Rough CSP approval! SL $5000

A couple days ago I started a thread looking for acknowledgment that I had the criteria to get a CSP. I got a lot of good feedback but some were talking about CSR and how the benefits were better. I didn't look up the minimums for the card and went and applied for a CSR... denial right off the bat...

At that moment I decided to DD for a CSP and hoped it would work itself out as one HP and I would call them to recon in the morning that I made a mistake. I ended up on the phone for 40 mins answering all the questions about my income, why my credit history was short, my income, my business (revenue, how my business did after quarantine and how my business is increasing so quickly) then was told I would receive and answer in 2 weeks.

Now knowing I double dipped and stating I had made a mistake by applying for the wrong card sounded like a valid point, but also the fact that I DDed with the same company I was in fear that I probably made a gigantic mistake and I may look desperate. I also knew I may get blackballed and possibly wouldn't be able to apply for a chase card for awhile. I still stated my case, gave them all the information they needed and was very detailed and informative on my credit, business and why I wanted to not only have chase as my business card (I have a 10k CIP) but also wanted them as my personal daily driver CC.

With that being said I called the the automated # right after I got off the phone, still two weeks. Just 10 hours later I called again and to my surprise the 2 week had turned into an approval and the CSR, well.... it is on a 7-10 and probably will be nothing.

lesson learned, do your research and don't go to far out of your boundaries. You may not get lucky like I did. I still don't know if I'll have 2x HPs.

Luckily I ended up with a CSP with a SL of $5,000.

Congrats on the approval! The CSR is a difficult card to get unless you have a lengthy history with Chase, have a 760+, and/or an income of $150K+

Congratulations! The CSP is a great card to have, I took advantage of the trip insurance a few years ago when I took on unexpected expenses after flight cancellations kept in NYC an extra night and because it was weather United refused hotel vouchers, they cut me a check very quickly.

Sadly, this year year my spend is way down with lack of travel, I just looked it had nearly $20K last year (which netted me nearly 3 times the AF in points value). This year I will actually lose money on the AF, so far have only made $50 in points value. If travel doesn't change in 2021 I may have to say goodbye to it, but that is a topic for a different thread.

Congrats! I'm waiting until I hit my 12 month mark to apply for CSP. Hopefully I'll get it. Already at 4/24 and definitely want chase to be my next card. Going to open up a checking account this week with them.
