Chase United Explorer approved

After fits and starts and jumping through hoops, I now have the Explorer card on its way. This was surprisingly difficult considering my scores, overall profile, and 25 years of positive history with Chase. You can read the gory details in the applications forum if desired:

This was the last card on my wish list, and might end up as the last credit card I ever apply for. While I'm (hopefully) a few decades from checking out, I have the cards I want, and am not interested in getting new cards just for the sake of new cards. I do see a mortgage in the next year or two, but other than that I'll probably be a long term gardener.

EDIT: 60k Miles SUB, $6500 SL moved from another Chase card, no new CL.

As the thread I linked in the OP detailed, I was originally denied for the card, and approved after recon. I just got the details, which reinforces that no matter how high your score is, getting a card is not 100% assured. This also suggests to me that Chase is really tightening up.

The score appears to be FICO 8 Bankcard version. As far as their reasons:

1) I do have two consolidation loans (prosper and lending club) that probably code as consumer finance.

2) I have no new credit in the past 12 months, and long AoOA and AAoA.

3) 4 total loans (2 car, the 2 above) paid down to 15%, 25%, 45%, and 75% of original balance. 3 credit cards with reported balances, all under $100 and 1% UTI. Two of those were AFs that I missed prepaying.

4) This one baffles, I have no lates or derogs of any kind on my report and I have plenty of accounts that get paid every month.

When I called the recon line, the reason they gave me verbally was "too high installment balances". The consolidation loans are around $8k total, the cars $32k, but those are secured and my income is plenty high to support that.

Even with these issues, my score and overall balances are far better than a few years ago when they instant approved my CSP.

After talking to them, they were willing to approve, but only by moving CL from other cards, the letter said:

My current Chase cl is about $30k, back when they approved the CSP with a 10k limit, I had two maxed out Chase cards with $17k balance and around $30k balances on other cards. Maybe they prefer giving more CL to people actually using it.
