I got approved for Navy Federal Cash Rewards with a 540 credit score!!!

I used this forum to repair my credit when I bought my house. Unfortunately, due to unemployment I am back here trying to repair my credit again. I have a secured mRewards card with Navy Federal that will hit the 6th month mark in December. I have been anxiously awaiting my graduation.

Luckily, I came across a youtube video that suggested to get preapproved and apply between 12 am and 5 am in the morning when humans are not around. It would increase your chances of getting approved. I ended up being approved for all cards and tried my luck with the cash rewards card.

I was approved for $1000. I know it's not a lot compared to what others are being approved for but my Transunion is 540 so I cannot complain. I finally have a non-secured credit card again!

Most of my apps and approvals have also been in the wee hours when my kids are sleeping.

no one should ever complain if they can get a Navy unsecured card let alone sub 600 score. Great job

That is excellent, Congrats! I too was a sub 600 approval for that second card. I gave up trying for number three until I my TU score jumps next month however. I have three INQ's that were denials from 620-650 or so.
