Got it! Amex Platinum with 75k MR, 10x earning, and $300 dining credits

Did some soul-searching since last night on the Platinum ever since K-i-B posted the huge offer they're doing for 75k MRs plus a $300 dining credit and 10x MR earnings on groceries and gas. Decided I can make this work to pad my MRs big-time in the coming year. Pulled the trigger just now, spun the wheel, and came back approved. Big AF for sure but my family can hit the full $300 dining credit and I know my wife will not waste the $100 at Saks, so a net AF of $150 for what I calculate as 180k MRs over the course of the year is a no-brainer.

Card arrives Friday

Congrats!

Right now Amex is trying their hardest on getting me to get a charge card that they upped the Platinum offer to 100K for $5k spend, and I just don't see the appeal of a card with a $550 AF. I'd rather have an Amex credit card. Heck, I'd rather have the Amex Prime Business card! Oh well. I'll keep watching the pre-approvals. One of these days.

@Anonymous this was the offer through Resy. I saw the 100k offer on the Amex page this morning but I can make this work with the dining credits easily.

@GApeachy so far it appears to have been a SP. No alerts from anywhere of a HP. And yes it is a fast arrival. I won't be surprised if it's Saturday but I have heard that Amex doesn't play around in getting Plat out to people so it may well be tomorrow. We'll see!

Lol thanks AJC, my build/rebuild over time is chronicled here for all eternity and I wouldn't remove it for any reason

MS, when I joined here in early 2018 I had mid-upper-500s and an aggregate CL of $800 between Target and Home Depot cards. Thanks to this site and its members, times and things have changed for the significantly better

@Anonymous I never thought I'd apply for a Platinum card but this offer was decent enough for me to overlook all of the reasons I don't like the card. I went for the 100k offer. The 6 month window allows for enough time to knock out of the spend requirement without having to do anything too drastic. Congrats on your new card!!
