Chase Freedom Unlimited Approved!

I've been looking to downgrade my CSP to a CFU but just decided on a whim I really would like a 0% APR card and the CFU gives 15 months so deciced to apply for CFU. I did this by logging into my Chase account but didn't unlock/thaw my reports so got the classic "We have received your request for a Chase credit card. We'll let you know our decision by U.S. mail. This could take up to 30 days." - I immediately knew I should have unlocked/thawed so I did then called in and spoke to a rep. They did what they do and immediately approved the application BUT they asked me about reallocating credit from my CSP so I told them to take $42k for the CFU.

I got a monster CL when I got approved for the CSP and I honestly don't use it much (hence the want to downgrade it) so it makes sense that Chase asked for a reallocation. No big deal but FYI for those not using or coming close to their CL's, you might have to reallocate upon new approvals with the same bank.

Thanks! To be honest I have no idea what APR I was approved at, they are always irellevant to me since I never carry a balance on any card. However, with this 15 month 0% APR I am going to allow for a little fun. : )

I just scored a new unlocked Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, too late to put that on the new CFU but no biggie. I have a few toys I'd like so the CFU will be perfect!

out of curiosity - you reallocated 42K CL from CSP to CFU.

is your CL on CSP more than 100K before the reallocation ?

I didn't give it much thought but basically halfed my CSP to add to the new CFU. I don't really care about the CSP's high CL because Chase were right in that I have never come close to it and don't put a ton of spend on the CSP as I focus more on my AMEX Trifecta! That might change now with the CFU, might play with it more to see how I like the benefits but again I applied solely for the 0% APR for 15 months. I have every card I could ever need (that I know of anyway).

I did ask the reason for it and he stated it boils down to my high CL and never having come close to using it all. Makes sense to me but for sure I would have liked to have kept CSP where it is but just not the way they wanted to run it this time.

14.99 is the lowest published CFU APR for new accounts. I haven't paid any cc interest in years, either, but I like to have the lowest APR I can get just for peace of mind.

14.99 is the lowest published CFU APR for new accounts. I haven't paid any cc interest in years, either, but I like to have the lowest APR I can get just for peace of mind.
