Post Chase approval application hesitation...Update: American Express BCE Approval

Hey all!

So on November 19th I was approved for NFCU plat 25K which reported in December on the 19th. I waited a week after that to apply for the coveted CSP which I was approved for... $16,900.

I am at 3/24 with 85k in CL at this time. My goal is 100k and I am eyeballing the Amex BCE -OR- the US Bank Altitude GO. They both have subs that would fit my spending. I know another chase card is out of the question and have that planned for July when I app for the Chase Amazon.

I have read alot... and I mean alot. I know ymmv with alot of these things. Chase AA is usually associated with app sprees and wreckless utl if I am not mistaken. Between my November approval and now with my December Chase approval... do you guys think if I app for another card either the Amex or USB Ill be okay?!?!

My total inquiries for all 3 EX,EQ and TU are 5 across the board. I have a decently healthy profile.....I just obtained my dream card and worked really hard for it and don't want any AA.

Am I being paranoid?? LOL any help would be appreciated.

To be clear I am looking to add one more card not both of them and the slowly slide into the garden.

@Anonymous, it's totally understandable given some of the AA stories you must've read. In your case, it appears your recent 2 applications/approvals were adequately spaced.

IMO, you should be fine with adding an extra CC. If you want to play it safe, apply for the AmEx BCE. Reporting-wise, it usually takes a couple months or statement cycles (in most cases) for AmEx accounts to report.

I'd agree with FinStar here.

I'd also add that since you have already picked up 2 cards in 2 months the odds of a successful application with US Bank before this fall are not in your favor. Right now AMEX would be a better bet especially if you have a prequalification under your belt.

I trust you guys as I have been following your trusty advice and was just approved for the BCE at 5k. I am not disappointed although Im subconsciously comparing it to my recent CSP 16,900 and my NFCU 25k approvals... but I know amex and the 3x cli is a possibility.

If this put you at 4/24 ther should no tbe much to worry about and as others have posted, the amex will post on the 3Bs later.

@Anonymous well done! Definetly dont compare these lenders in sl as they all differ vastly. Chase usually gives you exactly what they feel your worth, Navy , well nobody beats Navy in generosity, not even Maaco, and Amex has very quick growth potentisl if your profile/income are up to snuff.

Enjoy as thats more credit on 3 cards in one shot then most experience
