Citi Double Cash $1500 CLI

Approved for $1500 CLI on my Citi Double Cash card today. Went from $9,290 to $10,790.

EQ BC8 is 781. Applied via mobile app with EQ frozen. No HP. Instant approval.

I'm a little disappointed by the amount. My last CLI on this card was $4k, 11 months ago. Since then, my usage of the card has increased from zero to a few hundred a month (always PIF) and my scores are up a little. It would be easy to blame COVID, but I don't think that's it because Citi gave me a $3k CLI on a different card in November. My total exposure with them is just under $20k and I think my profile can support a lot more, so I doubt that's the issue.

Oh well. It's better than a denial.

Congrats on getting what you got. I get what you're saying though based on your profile. Citi seems to have been more conservative lately, whether it be Covid or whatever else. The vast majority of reported CLIs I've seen from them have been in the $1k-$2k range; the one I got a couple of months back was $2k when on paper my profile is definitely capable of much more.

It's possible that since you got that $3k CLI on another card that it may have held back your CLI on this card. Perhaps them have implemented additional overall CLI/exposure metrics during the current state of the environment. It will continue to grow though, even if it's slow/steady.

And again, those darn oddball Citi limits!

Nice, @Curious_George2 ! Yep...always better, and SP too, so there's that.

I had $2500 and $2500 in 2 SP CLIs with my Citi Costco card in the first year, and then after spending an average of around $3000 a month on the card over 7 months since the last $2500....they give me a $1500 SP CLI.

Seems to be a common thing, and especially with people that always pay in full. Maybe Citi Ai doesn't see the point of giving anything higher.

That's so weird! Seems like they want us to play hard-to-get. I'll try sock-drawering my card for six months. Then maybe they'll try to win me back with a bigger CLI.
