Double Win -- GS Apple Card CLI and PCR approval

Decided to do a double jump today and it ended up working out!

Requested an Apple CLI jumped from 5K to 8K

Finally applied for a Penfed PCR and got 20K SL with 16.99 APR.

DP for Apple

Opened card 97 days ago with 5K limit. Put heavy use on it each month, approx 60%-80% limit. Paid down multiple times a months.

Cards listed in Sig, util <3% of TCL. 2-3 Inq on CRAs.

Been with Penfed for 2 years. Approved for Personal Loan for 20K in September.

@Openwater Very nice. Good job. Congratulation. Is this your first card with Penfed? Any POI asked for this card? Do you plan on getting their Gold card in the future? How much income was reported to them to get this SL? Somebody over here told me that the maximum limit one can get with them is $25k...now I do not know if its on one card or combined limit on their all cards...And I read on another forum that someone got $29k on one card with Penfed but didn't provide enough data-points to analyze the situation like score, age, SL or upon approval of CLI...if after heavy spend or what kind of relationship the person had with this lender prior to getting this much limit in order for this lender to make an exception for the person especially when this is reported here that this lender doesn't go over $25k..so data-points missing...can u elaborate a bit on it? Tnx

Yes this is my first card with them. I opened an account (savings) with them like 2 years ago, kept very little in in. 4 months ago applied for a loan with them and they approved me for 20K. I applied for the PCR today and got the same amount 20K. From what I've read on this forum the cap has been 25K/card. Recently some people have gotten more, but its there have been issues with it showing on their accounts or something like that.

Thanks. Can you provide a bit more details plz? Do you have a thick credit profile? What's the age of your credit profile/accounts? And how much income you reported to them on the application to secure this much initial credit limit?

My credit profile started post BK7 in 12/14.

I basically started with AU on a Barclay card (10K) in 2015

then AU on Amex same year (15K) worked with them for 2 years until I

opened a Kohls card in 2017 (1K)

local credit union visa 2018 (12K)

discover 1/19 (22K)

Cap 1 10/19 (10K)

Amex BCP 1/20 22K

GS Apple 10/20 (5K)

PCR 1/21 (20K)

Always PIF with posted <5% Util of my TCL

Income 90K

In retrospect from what I learned here I should have been applying and building right after the BK, but found the forums a bit later.

Yeah I went ahead and asked because it's a SP and I got one decline reason:

You have not used and paid enough of your Apple Card credit limit since your last credit limit increase

Honestly was expected though. While I've paid about 2/5 in two months, I don't really use the card. I was just wanting to get at least $600 to bump my TCL back to $100K lol

Getting $20K out-the-gate with PenFed is awesome!

I'm sure your 2-year history with them helped you in that regard.

And those are additional great data-points on the Apple Card.

They do love to see good spending!

@Anonymous PenFed's "official" limit on one card is now $25K as of last year and total exposure by customer are $50K. They used to allow $50K per card, and $50K total. That's why you may have seen data points indicating conflicting information. During the transition, a few of us were able to get approved above $25K last year on CLIs. Starting Limits are usually no more than $25, but usually much less. I think their system is catching up to the new standards so I wouldn't expect to exceed $25K per card, although it could happen.

Some data-points are very confusing. On another forum someone received SL $28k...I myself got SL $23, 800k...So when I heard over here that $25k is the cap on one card then it does confuse me. As you already know that I've not been here for long and neither on all these forums, so I know nothing about all these data-points and other protocols..All this kinda new to me.
