Amex 2ND 3X CLI at age 18

For data point purposes, just thought I would drop in here and mentioned that I got my second 3x CLI on my AMEX Cash Magnet last year. I started out with $2,000, got $6,000 at 61 days, and then got $18,000 about a month ago just six months after the first CLI.

For reference, my income is about double that one card. Crazy.

wow, congrats on your CLI! You are much further along than I was at that age. I didn't have a credit card until I was 22 and I maxed that one out for the first couple years I had it. lol so you are doing GREAT

That's the goal. I'm very happy to be over the initial "hump" of no credit history, limits, etc.

Congrats!!

Remember, to be very careful. Being so young with so much availability of credit could be an awesome thing or curse lol. Always use it wisely. If you don't have the cash to buy something then don't charge it. Only put things in a credit card for the rewards and never ever carrry a balance. It is so easy to buy those Jordan's on something of that nature on impulse. Trus5 me I did just that a l9ng time ago.

Thanks for the heads up. I am chronically allergic to paying interest of any type and I haven't done the sort since beginning my journey. Just updated my signature to reflect my garden status!

Congrats on your second 3X CLI and your strong limit on that card! It appears your TCL is already nearing your income, which that quick out of the credit gate is quite impressive. It's also great that you started the clock on some great cards very early on. 20 years from now you can have a very solid AoOA of ~20 years in your late 30's, something not many people are able to say.
