Thinking of applying for AMEX Gold...

I read I might as well go for the Gold Premier to get the better rewards, but I'm not so sure if I'm going to apply right now.

Score is 729 (woooo!)

I just applied and was approved for: Citi Thankyou Preferred (invitation; I have been trying to get a card with these people FOREVER) and Chase Sapphire Preferred (which was a spur-of-the-moment decision).

No dings on credit history, but it's only 3 years old. I have a Blue Cash Everyday with AMEX for 9 months now, always pay my balance in full because I know they hate when you carry it from month to month. But I hesitate because of my recent apps. Also stands to mention that I have zilch outstanding CC balances right now.

Anywho, yay or nay? I kind of wanted to app for the new CC they're releasing in April but I want a charge card from them.

I'm pretty sure you'll get approved. If you didn't, for some odd reason, it'd only be SP.

I would say go for it. You have a very good chance, and your good payment history with the BCE is in your favor. Keep us posted!

Approved! I went with regular Gold, though. I don't think I really need the Premier for the extra $50. Thanks, guys!

it's free for a year, should have done it and downgraded next year.

Congrats though you should've gotten the PRG with the better bonus and free for the year! Oh well next time!

No way, that's exactly why I got it! I factor how a card looks into whether or not I'll get it. Very vain of me.
