Approved for a lousy $350. Just realized how crappy Comenity is. Is there anyway I can call and cancel the card before they ship it?

To answer your question, you incurred a HP Hard Pull inquiry. More than likely, the new account will show up on your credit report whether you close it or not.

It's not as bad as you think. When your paper work/card arrives via snail mail, (around 10 days) set up your account and try for a sp cli before doing anything else. With Comenity it's not uncommon to double or triple your limit immediately. Use your card, pif, rinse and repeat and every two to four months you can request another sp cli. (Minors are usually on a two month schedule)

Comenity Bank accts grow like weeds..just don't poke the bear. (apping too many of their cards)

Nope, once you set up online access and log into your account, hit the increase button in there. If they increase you, try it again. I've gotten two of my cards increased immediately one time, and the third card (Overstock) I got two back to back increases, from $750 to $1500 to $2250. That was October 13th of last year. Currently that card sits at $11,550, 54 weeks after opening it. @GApeachy isn't kidding in saying these cards can grow fast.

Yes, you can call them to cancel it but its still going to appear on your CR.

Yeah, thanks for clarifying @Anonymous . @Morphyyy Do the initial cli request online right when you set up your account...online. Just make sure it doesn't read anything like they will have to hp your cr. Good Luck and let us know.

Congratulations on the approval and be sure to tap that luv button after registering your account.

And don't be surprised if it grows like wildfire on schedule. Many do!

I must admit this is a new one on me though.

I had different brands of Comenity CC's like many other members over the span of lots of years.

Thank you! I'm definitely going to follow yall's advice and yes academy is about the only store on there I shop at quite a bit lol. I'm a little worreid about the whole closing my account for a bunch of new accounts thing but we will see lol I'll make sure to hit that LUV button asap when I set up everything

Well.....if you're an app'oholic like myself then stop! Hahaha! Easier said than done but don't go messing with Comenity and apping for a lot of their store cards, esp. via SCT. Not sure but that might tick'em off. IDK...maybe? Who knows for sure. I just never have more than t2o cards with them.

Just enjoy whatcha got and now you're the proud owner of a "project card". Watch it grow!

Update: Credit line now sits @ $36,500.

@Morphyyy , @GApeachy and others are right.

I opened my first (only so far) Comenity card back in October 2018. I was given what I felt was a rather low SL. I called while in store (just minutes after completing the app on my phone) and got a 3k increase. Since then, my increases (all soft pulls) have been pretty much like clockwork at/around 61/91 days. The credit limit currently stands @ $33,500.

No LUV button and I called in a instant denial for CLI. Same thing happened with my Lowe's card there was no LUV button and instant denial for CLI waiting about 2 months of very heavy usage and they gave me $12,000

They pulled Experian when I was approved last year.
