Finally, a member in Chase family!

Can't wait any more to get Chase freedom. Applied online and got 7-10 message. Called the backdoor # immediately and spoke with a lovely lady.

When she said that she needed to put me on hold, I knew that there was hope! And finally, yes! $3500. Not very satisfied with the CL though, as I already have two cards with 5k limit. Should I do something for CLI or maybe wait for some time? Does Chase do automatic CLI? If the limit goes above 5k, can I ask to transfer it to visa signature?

You can ask for a CLI right now, but it will be an additional inquiry.

Best strategy is to wait 6-12 months, and then ask for a CLI.

Chase does automatic CLI, and the chances of it happening increases with heavy usage of the card.

If the limit goes above 5k, you can request for it to be changed to visa signature after the card is opened for >12 months.

You can search the forum for threads about the auto cli chance of the freedom. In a nutshell some people have luck with auto cli and others don't. There does not seem to be a specific method other than paying your card on time. The short answer is Chase sometimes does auto CLI. I think the recent news is that you can not get visa sig on your freedom now. Before you would be able to ask for visa sig if your CL was 5k and you had the card for at least 13 months.

I wouldn't waste another HP unless you can afford it. IMHO just show some history with them and maybe auto luv will come

Just use the card and you should see an auto-CLI between 3-6mos.

Congrats and welcome to the Chase family! The Freedom is a good card -- the 5% categories really add up. Make certain that you register for them online each quarter. See you back in the garden with your new seedling.

Just want to share with you my status when I applied. I don't think it will consider any inquiries older than 1 year. It pulled my TU and EX, both had 3 hard pulls within 1 year. Not sure if it pulled my EQ or not.
