Walmart Mastercard Approval

Cap One got me again. Sent me a pre-approval mailer for the Walmart Mastercard. Of course I knew this was a borderline pre approval, the rate was 26%. I went for it anyway, approved instantly for $300.

I do not shop at walmart more than once or twice a month. I would not have gone for it had it not been the mastercard version. This can potentially replace my Credit One Visa that turns a year next month and is of course riddled with fees. The reward structure is much better. Onward and upward with the rebuild.

I have to garden now, too many new accounts. Now if I could only ignore the pre-approvals. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I remember when my credit was bad really bad. Then barely good enough to get approved for a cap one plat also $300 SCL. Then $800 auto cli one year later and the rebuild started with still a few bumps along the way.

Now almost 6 yrs later I have over $130k in open credit cards lines, Auto loan and mortgage is paid on time now. Your profile is starting to take shape.

Keep going and hope for the best..

Congratulations! Pre Approvals are so sweet, aren't they? I got the same card at the same SL. We have a WM nearby and although I don't shop there tons, some of the food or drug store staples are at a great/good price there, so it's cool. I'm working on getting my CL's up as well as thickening my Credit Profile strategically this 12 months. Glad to hear you're doing away with Fee Me Credit One. Always grateful for our starter cards, aren't we? Yet no need to hang onto them past their being pertinent for us anymore.

Thank you everyone. I can see the card in my cap one app along with my others. So I take it this one will behave just like my others. I will be sure to show them usage. I recently switched my checking and savings to cap one as well.
