Very Successful Micro Spree for DW after NFCU Home Loan Closing

Applied for the PSECU Founders card yesterday after closing this week on a NFCU loan for the townhouse we had been renting from my Sister since our downfall in early 2014.

The app went to review. The process was a bit weird. I was the one applying as always and was about to unlock her EX before hitting submit but noticed that there were 5 emails saying that TU was pulled for a consumer loan. I unlocked EX and hit submit but they never pulled EX in the end. They pull before you submit!

Got a conformation message of approval this AM and it looks as though she was approved for the max, $30k. Simple as that, no Income verification, no call, no nothing. Another 2% card (she will fulfill the required $500 DD to make it 2%)

If you look at my Sig, her scores mirrored mine until a few months ago. I was able to get her cleaned up a bit early but she was in the 300's in 2016.

DP's:

Pulled TU 04 - 773

Total CL = $98,000

<1% UTI

8 INQ's, 4 in the last year.

Used combined Income, no verification, $157K

DTI < 10%

Highest previous CL $24K at NFCU

Side note, she just closed a home loan at NFCU that was painless. 20% down conventional, $157k @ 2% with a MMS of 776 (Her 08's and 09's are over 800 now) This loan is in her name only but I am on the deed. We acquired the TH for $40k under market as we had a few years old agreement at that price and had performed all upgrades ourselves.

Bottom line, the long road of coming back from an economic disaster takes extreme patience but it sure is worth the diligence in the end. In a few short months, my scores may top hers as I don't have any "new" accounts so there may be a slightly larger spree in the works.

Thank you all. I hope to be of inspiration.

7 years ago today, I am sure the DW and I were both sleepless and scared to death. A fraud of a commercial landlord, a world class shyster of the most evil variety nearly tore us apart and did wipe us out economically. We were this close to being under a bridge with 3 kids (grown now) and it was either try to feed them or pay CC's. Luckily I had a sibling that rented us this TH we just purchased for "whatever" we could pay to keep us from being homeless. Now it is ours after years of upgrading and watching the 7 year clock get closer.

Thanks again for the congrats and well wishes! Those currently in deep $hit, have faith in yourselves, avoid debt and have patience, it will get better.

I'm very new to PSECU. I had been going over the site since every institution is different from the other and you want to find your way around and what each menu entails. I even filled in a PSECU credit card app all the way up to final page BUT DID NOT SUBMIT. Instantly bells went off on my Monitorings (all 5 of them or more simultaneously) that a Mortgage Inquiry had been pulled.

So that is 100% accurate and you also determined DIFFERENT. (in your expression weird)

Congratulations to you both on the fresh brand new successes with the approvals and such.

It certainly is as you say. A long road back from a downfall. Covid-19 for me. which takes patience and extreme perseverence. So glad all worked to your favor!!

@Credit4Growth As already mentioned above. No. But i did fill out the card application simply to gauge matters because each app is always different and i like to go over every detail so to see how they operate. Some prefill your data as you enter information where others are more static and straight on. Checked my TU and see no PSECU INQ there in spite of a completed app with them but NOT SUBMITTED. I called in to explain and requested IF they did pull to retract since it was NOT SUBMITTED. Today i see no PSECU INQ so they either removed it or shifted it to a SP since although the app was complete it was not entered as Submitted.

Just so others know. OP is correct. They pull BEFORE you click or press SUBMIT. Or at least it did for us. Hope that helps.
