Approved Lowes $12k —> $20k Now for the address change

From some earlier comments, I located the Lowe's Pre Approval link, and got $12,000 with a nose-bleed 26.99% APR. Yeah, I know, promotional financing on larger purchases, but technically this is now my highest APR card. So I've got that going for me.

Went ahead and completed the application, however it pulls in the address we are moving out of, did not give me the chance to enter a new address. Which, in the scheme of this online preapproval, that makes sense.

So I have the temporary card for a PDF, but now need to call to get the new address on the account, before they send the card out.

Any comments about how long to wait to ask for a CLI? ( CLI first business day to $20k )

I've not had any Synchrony accounts, though I did have an American Eagle card years ago, it's been closed for about 10 years. TU, EX don't see it, only minimal data remains reporting on EQ.

Congratulations on a sweet approval.

From many approval posts I've read, other members stated they asked for a CLI the same day as approval.

Just the other day a member added 5K on the day of approval I believe.

Synch is a bear you may not want to poke right yet. You just got a great approval. Unless you're using the card to have a sunroom built and need the extra, leave it alone for now. Synch is still shutting people down. Show them some use, pay your bill, and let it marinate awhile. Try a CLI in 4 months or so - who knows, by then maybe the Covid lending fears will abate somewhat and leave your new TL at less risk.

I tried the same day I was approved, denied. Tried again at 30 days, denied. Tried after my 3rd statement and was approved from 5500 to 11k, 5 days later I asked for 20k and they countered at 17k. I've put very heavy use on the card in 3 months.

Congrats on the approval. My wife was preapproved for 4,500 and then approved for that amount, then she immediately called in and asked for a CLI to 12,000 and they approved her for the $12,000 amount instantly. The higher the limit the better, since you'll probably only use this card for promo financing purchases of $2k-5k.

120 days is generally safe.

As far as new address (congrats on that, too), be prepared to send them something showing new address like DL and utility bill.

Maybe you won't have to, but that's what they asked from me because I transposed digits on the street address.

They said I could mail or fax it. Card was locked for about 3 days till they reviewed it, and there were no issues after

Weird they approved it like that 🤷‍♀️

I actually had a similar situation when I was moving out and I was suppose to have a credit card on the way but they took took over 3 weeks to ship it out and I was moved out before it ever arrived so I went to usps website and did a hold all mail request, you can choose up to a month or something and the post office will hold everything for you until you go there to pick it up. I don't recommend going there everyday though to ask for your mail because then they will yell at you and tell you that the hold mail request is only for people going on vacation. So I would just go there in like two weeks and pick up your mail . It's an idea anyway.

The application through the pre-approval pulls current address from my credit report, there was no opportunity for me to bolox it.
Called today, first CSR tried to change the address, but fortunately the system did not let her, due to new account. First transfer to an Account Specialist dropped as soon as the Specialist picked up. Call again.

Second transfer to an AS went through. She sent a verification text to my cell phone, tap that link and it sent a message back to her to close the loop on verification. Address updated, card should ship there.

Asked about a CLI, she had to transfer me back to a CSR, who requested annual income and put through the request. I asked for $20,000, because our carpet installation will likely be $15,000.

Came back approved for the $20,000.
