DW apped for the MC version of Shell Fuel Rewards card through the FR app.

She initally received the same verification page others have been getting recently from CitiRetail/DSNB.

Called the phone number and provided the reference code... APPROVED moments later for $700.

You know a lot of folks hate on this card, but it really is a good card. Kind of like the Sears card, Citi throws a lot of random bonus offers at it, and they're pretty regular. I got these offers in the last couple months.

December -- 6.25% cash back when you spend $800 between groceries, gas and dining -- easy target
February -- Buy something online for $50 and get $20 back -- anything!

Once I met the caps, the cashback posted the very next statement. Wish they had a mobile app for this card, but between offers, 10% on all shell purchases and gas discounts, it adds up quickly. Download the shell app and use pay at the pump in the app. You get the regular $.05 per gallon for being a cardholder plus another $.05 per gallon for using pay at the pump. You'll also find extra cashback on gas for random things in the store, but I like the fact that it's stuff that I would normally buy anyway (gaterade, beef jerky, drinks, etc.). Enjoy!

I will most definitely be on the lookout for those special offers.

There's a shell about a minute's drive from the house so already getting just about all our gas from shell not to mention all the ill-advised junk food purchases.

I'm also w tmobile now & they have a weekly shell deal .15 off per gallon. Stacking w Shell rewards program seems to be well worthwhile for anyone with a average monthly gas bill.

I won't be sockdrawing this ⛽ card...

well maybe in a few years after some of the newer EVs are optimized 😅

Al the CLIs are definitely HP. It's not like "ask for the moon and they counter", but instead it specifically asks you how much more you want and you get a Yes or No. With that in mind I was modest with my requests. Mine was initially approved at $1,600.

6 months later I asked for $5k more, online, and it approved it instantly bring it up to $6,600.

I wanted an even number so waited 6 more months and asked for $10k and got it. I'm not sure where the ceiling is but I think it's in the $20k-$25k range. Very select few may have higher limits but that's because their loaded, in the real sense. For me, $10k is good enough.

I approached the cycle as the regular Citi "once every 180 days", but it could be less. I just didn't want to burn a HP to get a "not enough time since last request" rejection
