I was denied a Chase Freedom and tried for recon 3 times but was denied. Got a lot of advice saying try for something else, but was hesitant about Discover It anyways got an offer in the mail today with a invite code..went ahead and tried it and got approved!! I am happy I went for it, on my way to cultivating better accounts!

I am in the same position as you with a ck score of 635. I was denied because of a few baddies with student loans from last year.

I did also get approved for a cap1platinum card with a $1000 limit. I will try to PC to the qs in 6-12 months.

Chase did the same to me months ago, tried the Freedom card twice over a few months and eventually just kept trying their Prequalifying site over and over again until one day Freedom and Slate popped up as choices. Eventually as you scores get better itll happen to you too, I accepeted the Freedom and now 4 months later beleive it or not I have the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Chase didnt want to give me anything and now the CSP??? It is possible with a little time and hard work. Dicscover is a great card to have by the way, youll love it and its very similar to the Freedom card

WTG on your Discover approval! Welcome to the family and what's your starting CL? Sorry for the Freedom denial, i would suggest trying recon one more time...you never know 4th time could be a charm!

So my staring CL is $1400, it was lower than my Citi expedia but it is a good start nonetheless
