Discover IT Auto-CLI and Recon CLI

I checked my e-mail today and had an e-mail from Discover with an auto-CLI from 10,500 to 12,500. I was pretty happy about that but...

I have been gardening for a while now and was getting ready to request an increase from them in a few weeks after a few other account balances report lower balances. I was also going to be updating my income information as it's higher than what they had on file. So I thought instead of waiting a few weeks like initially planned I would call to see if I could get more on the current CLI.

So I called the recon number and was transferred to the credit increase department where I gave my updated info and they put in another request for me (not a hard pull, I asked a couple times). I requested another 3k to get up to 15,500. After they put in all my info, they said they would put me on hold for 2-3 minutes to review my info and when they came back they said they were able to increase it!

So overall a 5k CLI...gardening/recon success!

Thanks everyone! Now hopefully I can stay in the garden a little longer and get some more CLI's in a few weeks once my reports update. Then, the next question is, do I come out of the garden, and if so, for what? Wanting something that will be something I can use, hopefully with a good CL or opportunity for good CLI's.

It took around 6 months before the last auto-CLI. The last one (which was also my first with them) was at around 3 or 4 months since opening. I have been carrying a balance with them to take advantage of the 0% but also making about the minimum payment + $100 per month.

No transfer actually. I have just been using the card, mainly for items in the 5% cashback categories. Taking advantage of the 0% intro apr to charge a little extra on it and pay off a little extra on my other cards, so effectively becomes like a pseudo-transfer.
