Instant Approval for Chase Sapphire Preferred Card

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share some stats. So I just got instantly approved for CSP card and I'm pretty happy because of the following reason.

When i was 21 2 years ago, that was the first time i heard about credit scores and such and started off with a 580 rating. I got that low rating because i had a credit account set up as overdraft protection that I forgot about. Subsquently, i owed wells fargo about $1.80 for about 60-90 days which tanked my young history.

Glad to say now 2 years later my scores are the following:

725 Experian 718 Transunion 712 Equifax

With that I got instantly approved online with a loading time about 15 seconds =D

Woot Woot

Edit: Now My question is, whats the next card to get for the rewards. Since i got restaurant and Travel covered, the next thing I'd like is Gas then maybe Amazon.com rewards. Any suggestions?

I've seen the Freedom card, but the $1500 reward cap limit is a HUGE turn off for me. That's like basically $75 every 3 months so if I get that then it will really be a card i only pull out for gas (or w/e category they have)

If anyone can help me it would be great!

Credit cards: Wells Fargo Rewards $3100 Limit, Chase Sapphire Preferred $5000 Limit

Income: 55k (First job out of college)

Congrats!!! I was denied for the Chase Sapphire TODAY so I'm going to garden for 6-9 months and then try again! With it's great APR %, rewards program, and $0 AF it's the best card avaliable IMO...

For gas rewards, there's penfed and Fort Knox credit cards that seem to offer around 5%. Other than that, the Costco true savings, amazon visa and us bank cash* (if you choose that category) will offer around 2% back.

Thanks for posting your info. Did you get the Wells Fargo card two years ago? Is that your only other card before getting the CSP? If so, you have demonstrated yet again that people do not need a prior 5k credit limit for Chase to give them the CSP.

There's always the Freedom+Discover combo to cover gas for 5% rotating categories. They overlapped this year so you got $3000 for gas for that quarter. Of course, there's the 3% gas from Amex BCP but only if your spending is enough to make up for the AF.

I owned that credit "account" for 5 years, but I only had a phsical Plastic card for 2-3 years. I didnt want the responsibility with a credit card at the age of 18 but they still set one up for overdraft protection. But yes, the wells fargo card is the only CC i have.

I did just start leasing a car a month ago

Also, I set up a chase checking account in addition to wells fargo account maybe 5 months ago. I did that for the sake of moving funds with no motive of CC's. I dont know if that had to do with anything though.

I believe the Amex Blue Cash Everyday card gives 2% back at gas stations. Might seem like a beginner card for you though since you are a CSP holder
