NFCU Flagship Approval ~ 2nd card, 2 years post file bk!

I decided to pull the trigger on a 2nd NFCU card. I wasn't sure I'd be approved, but yay! I'm so thrilled!!! My biggest CL yet! They checked TU, I don't know what my current score is but most recents are in my sig.

Congratulations! Anyone find it were NFCU sometimes throws those random $100 multiples on the end of credit limits? I had one at one time that was $5200. I finally just asked them to round it to $5500 to keep my OCD in check

Congrats on the approval. I want this card next in 91/3 for my 3rd card. I was afraid to app for it and that I wouldn't meet the 5k minimum and didn't want to waste a pull but got 7.5k on the platinum.

Does anyone know if apply for flagship and want to pc to say more rewards or something else to avoid the annual fee after the first year if that's a possibility or is there real advantage to keeping the flagship? Like extra high credit limits etc compared to the other cards?

Thank you everyone! It is a great SL, especially for me! I plan on using this card for points toward travel (already planning on going on a cruise in 2023, can use this card to make payments & get points!) all without using up too much of my credit line. And now, I HAVE to garden, but do plan on closing my small $900 limit credit one card as it's outlived its usefulness.

@toddc, the Flagship Rewards is Navy FCU's .... errr ... "Flagship" card ... because it's considered their "best" card by them, although your definition may depend on perspective and what else you carry. But yes, you can PC the Flagship Rewards later to another card or unofficially, NFCU will allow you to transfer the credit limit.

Flagship is Navy's only card that pays 2% on everything, uncapped and uncategorized. (But yes, there are cards that offer that return or higher with no-AF.) And it's their only card that pays 3% on travel. It's also their only card with Worldwide Travel Accident insurance (up to $250K) and Lost Luggage reimbursement. It also includes benefits you might find on some other no-AF Navy FCU cards such as cell phone coverage, rental car CDW, Norton ID Navigator, Purchase Protection, and Travel Assistance.

If you can use it, the AF is partially offset by the TSA Global Entry reimbursement of $100 once every four years, so that effectively reduces your AF to $24 ($49 - $25 average annual credit) if you travel. When the higher SUB offering was available (and it might be again), instead of the Amazon Prime credit they were giving 50K points (worth $500) which effectively paid the AF for ten years by itself.

Flagship Rewards is most unique in how high the credit limit may go. Navy limits overall revolving credit lines to $80K and all the cards except Flagship are capped at no more than $50K. But you can put the entire $80K on the FSR.

The Flagship Rewards can be a great 'keeper' card and even a daily driver. However, like any card, that depends on what else you carry and how it fits into your card lineup and lifestyle.
