Navy Federal Comes Through Again!

In 2019 when I began my credit rebuild I kept hearing all this praise for Navy Federal Credit Union and how they are known for giving out these really high credit limits! People were getting 15K, 20K and 25K! I was in shock and impressed! I became interested in joining and one day getting one of those limits myself! At the time my highest limit was $7000 and my other 3 cards were $1000, $1000, and $2700!

When I joined in January 2020 and applied for my first card in February, the More Rewards, I was excited to start out with a $9300 limit. Later at 91/3 when I got a limit increase of $8000 my mind was blown even more. I had never had a bank willing to give me a limit increase so soon or so high.

When I later applied for my 2nd card in August 2020, the Flagship, my expectations were I'd finally get a $25K limit, but instead I got $5500. I wasn't too upset, but I was shocked nonetheless. I was under the impression that if you used the cards responsibly each new card with Navy would start higher than your previous or at least be comparable. Well I knew that if I just kept doing what I was doing, using the card responsibly, that I'd eventually get to 25K via limit increases. Well today is that day!

I applied 183 days (thanks @Anonymous ) after my last credit limit increase on my More Rewards. I asked for $4000 more and was granted it. It actually took 2 days to see the increase. After applying for the CLI on Tuesday morning I checked the app every hour to see if it was approved while awake on both Tuesday and Wednesday. I last checked it before bed last night and there was no change. I woke up this morning and checked and 48 hours after applying I saw that the $4000 increase was granted. My new limit is $25,300!

February 2020 - Approved $9300

May 2020 - $8000 CLI, new limit $17,300

November 2020 - $4000 CLI, new limit $21,300

May 2021 - $4000 CLI, new limit $25,300
