Penfed approval

I was debating whether to try for Penfed as I just applied for FNBO and was approved for a $7500.00 sl last week. I thought why not try my luck and went for it. I got the congratulations email and was approved for the PenFed Power rewards with a $6,000 sl. It's time to garden now and work on building the limits on these cards for a while.

I love the PCR as an "everything else" card. For whatever I don't get better bonuses from some other card, I put on the PCR.
You get 1.5% back on everything. If you're military or a veteran, you get 2%. If not, you can just open a checking account with PenFed to get that 1.5% raised to 2%.

I was thinking of going for PenFed since my EQ is clean and in the FICO8 in the 750s. Is it recommended to have a Checking or Savings? I have so many Checking/Savings that I am trying to avoid opening any new ones.

@Anonymous If you obtain the PCR Power Cash Rewards it is a 1.5% cash back card. It becomes 2% cash back if you meet the requirements.

In general, for CUs, to retain the CC product, you have to be a member with at least $5 in a shares account.

I was approved for penfed platium after being turned down a coyple of times over the last few years. But i started getting snail mail pre approval. But just threw them away since i heard that they were useless. I was told to wait until you see and offer on your account. So thats what i did. But i was still reluctant because i just got a 53 cash back card for 11500. But i pulled the trigger got the 24 to 48 hour message. But they didnt pull my report until the next day and i was approved for a nice sl of 10000. I might chill now. I got a few other cards i might close out now. Amex i dont need anymore.
