Chase Freedom Flex approval after 30-day message

Hello, here's some info which can be useful to others. Applied for the card on Monday and didn't get approved or denied. The screen showed they needed more time and would let me know in 30 days. I was 4/24, 0/12 at the time of the application. Credit score in their website was 792.

My 2 previous approvals with them for Freedom Unlimited and Sapphire Preferred were instant While waiting on the phone to speak with someone and ask them if they needed more info I was reading the forum and members here suggested to wait and don't call until the 30-day message changes to something else, so I hung up. I've been calling the automated line daily just to hear the same message. Then on Friday (5 days) when I logged in I saw the card had appeared along the others with a credit limit of $13 100. I was relieved and happy. They never called me to verify anything.

Congrats on your approval! I'm glad it worked out for you. I'm thinking I'll probably PC my regular Freedom to the flex one of these days, really no reason not to. Enjoy your new card!

I'm trying to understand the requirements for a Chase card. When you say 4/24, 0/12 - what are you referring to?

Number of New Accounts or Number of Inquiries??? Thanks for your input

CarolynArt, these were new accounts from all banks for a period of 12 and 24 months. Chase is famous for the rule 5/24. They won't approve you for a card if you have 5 or more credit cards opened from any bank in the last 24 months There are some exceptions like if they pre-approve you on their website.
