Well...I tried....

So in the beginning of March I entered the garden but in order to be transparent I must admit my transgressions so here we go.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a balance transfer offer on my barclays card. I called in regarding it and wanted to see about transferring a current balance on my NFCU card. Well, in the midst of inquiring I asked if mt CL could be increased to transfer over more. Well, the increase was denied. I was so upset with myself. I ended up not doing the transfer but I did call the backdoor number 3 times in a row in order to at least get some type of increase since I took the hit. I was approved for a 500 increase. Boo. So now my Barclay card is 1500 limit from 1000 starting limit last month.

So after my disappointment of breaking out of the garden started to set in I decided I might as well go for the gusto right? I mean I already had 10 hard pulls (7 from car loan search...still pissed about that). My EQ score had gone up to 640 from 590 a few weeks back so I decided to go for the last few cards I said I wanted since 3 more pulls couldn't be that bad right?!?

Results:

Chase Freedom app DENIED! Called for recon 3 times back to back. 3rd call resulted in approval for 3k. Yay!

Appd for USAA Amex Rewards. Was all prepared to fight for the card via recon request. App instantly approved for 2K. Not much but happy about the card!

Last desired card...Discover IT. I applied online and was instantly denied for bankruptcy in 08. Recon denied, twice. Didn't try again as the recon people at Discover do not appear to be as friendly or flexible as Chase and Barclays are.

So there you have it. Now I'm back in the garden and my question is : Since it's the end of March can I technically still be a March seedling?!? I'm just saying..... :-)

WTG! 3rd time is the charm w/ Chase, congrats on your successful recon approval! Discover is a hard nut to crack, i would wait a bit longer and try it again. You have some great cards coming your way, enjoy your new cards and treat them well.

so true, they may start soft pulling him though and now they will see chase freedom on his CR Discover may send he a pre approved offer

Your offical GC date starts the day of last HP so yes a seedling can start any day of any month

Thanks!! Yes I read about Discover and I fully expected the denial actually but figured with the high inquires already on my EQ file thstone more wouldnt hurt and would allow me to know what the denial reason woulfd be for futurre preparation. I plan to revisit them next March as I was told a little more time on my new cards would be good for an approval. But yes, very happy about my other approvals and NOW i'm ready to garden!
