Applying while Buzzed

Im in the process of rebuilding and getting an American Express card seemed like a final step that told me I was doing well. I stagnated in the high 600s of all the reports with my highest being 699. My goal this time last year was to hit 700s. I know; that was close enough to where it drove me crazy. Anyways, I was drinking and decided that it was time to apply. I app'd and was instantly approved for AMEX Gold. In the same hour I applied and was 7-10 day messaged for the blue cash preffered of which i was approved after proving identity the weekend after.

I understand my AAoA would take a hit but I believe Im done applying for good now. I think my credit card journey has come to an end. I could be wrong.

I may be opening and making a substantial deposit with HSBC just for that Premier card. That's nutso, right? Lol

You would not be the only one in this thread to do such a thing (so nothing crazy about it at all). It is on my hit-list (arranged by priority of course) below my cards and scores. However, US Bank and their one year without a new CC requirement prior to an Altitude Reserve approval makes them priority. I was also going to use the 5K in monthly direct deposits to meet the requirement instead myself.

Congrats! A scary thought comes to mind after reading this. Imagine if someone went on a crazy app spree while buzzed, then wakes up to find 5 new apps.
